Commack Corners
Once a quiet crossroads with no traffic Commack Corners is busy all the time now with eight lanes and many traffic lights.
The hotel has been replaced with a GoodYear garage. The store came down in 1969. No longer do houses line the sides of Jericho Turnpike.
Around 1910 Commack Corners had a hotel on one corner and the general store on the other. You could walk across Jericho with little worry.
The hotel has been replaced with a garage and the fields and barn across the road are now Commack Corners Shopping Center.
Built by Wm. Mahler in 1900 just after the Goldsmith's 1770 hotel burned. The Gordan's owned the hotel next and added on a restaurant.
