Sunshine Acres Fresh Air Home
The land was purchased in 1918 by The Baptist Young Peoples Union of Brooklyn and used as a Fresh Air Home, or as we would call it today a Summer Camp, named Sunshine Acres. The children would come out from the city in groups for two weeks at a time.
Formerly the home of Dr. Darling B. Whitney for much of the 1800s the house became the main administration building for the camp.
Across the field can be seen the rear of the main house that stood on Townline Road.
