The Commack Methodist church was founded in 1783 with the help of a British tailor named John Philips who formed the Hubbs, Burrs, Brushs, and others into a Methodist Society. They then built the church in 1789. |

The Methodist Parsonage house was built in 1886. The next house over was that of Mr. Brynt who was the Postmaster for many years. |
